Are We There Yet? is a family comedy franchise starring Ice Cube as a bachelor whose romance is tested by two mischievous kids. The two films are an easy watch when you know the order.

Are We There Yet? stars Ice Cube as Nick, a confirmed bachelor who endures a disastrous road trip while trying to win over the kids of the woman he's dating. The family-friendly comedy proved popular enough to spawn a sequel and later a television spin-off.

πŸ• Release Order

Release order follows Nick's journey from reluctant chaperone to settled family man.

  1. Are We There Yet? (2005)
  2. Are We Done Yet? (2007)

The sequel continues Nick's life with the same family, so the chronological order matches the release order.

πŸ“– Story Chronology

Are We Done Yet? takes place after the first film, so story chronology follows the release sequence.

  1. Are We There Yet? (2005)
  2. Are We Done Yet? (2007) β€” the family settles into a new home

Which Order Should You Choose?

Watch Are We There Yet? first, then Are We Done Yet?. The original establishes Nick's rocky relationship with the kids, while the sequel shifts to a home-renovation comedy as the family moves in together. Since the follow-up builds on the first film's relationships, starting at the beginning gives the series its full arc.
