How to watch

Based on the 1970s television show, the Charlie's Angels movies reimagined the trio of private investigators as high-kicking, globe-trotting secret agents. The franchise mixes comedy, action, and style across two McG-directed hits and a 2019 reboot. Packed with disguises, martial arts, and tongue-in-cheek humor, the films turned a nostalgic property into one of the early 2000s' signature action-comedy hits.

🕐 Release Order

Release order works best here, since the first two films share the same cast of Angels while the third is a fresh start.

1. Charlie's Angels (2000)
2. Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003)
3. Charlie's Angels (2019)

The two early films form a direct pair, while the 2019 film reboots the concept with a new generation of Angels working for an expanded Townsend Agency. The 2019 reboot even suggests the Townsend Agency has expanded worldwide, hinting that earlier Angels passed the torch.

📖 Story Chronology

Story order matches release order: the 2000 and 2003 films follow the same team, and the 2019 reboot is set in its own continuity years later. Because the reboot is self-contained, you can treat the original duo and the newer film as two separate adventures in the same spirit.

1. Charlie's Angels (2000)
2. Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003)
3. Charlie's Angels (2019)

Which Order Should You Choose?

Watch in release order. Start with the 2000 original and its 2003 sequel for the Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, and Lucy Liu team, then enjoy the 2019 reboot as a standalone follow-up. The reboot nods to the earlier films but doesn't require them, so newcomers can jump in anywhere. Whichever team you prefer, the Angels' mix of glamour and butt-kicking fun makes this a breezy franchise you can finish in a single marathon.
