Salman Khan's fearless cop Chulbul Pandey anchors the blockbuster Dabangg trilogy. Here's the order to watch the films. Loud, colorful, and unapologetically entertaining, the Dabangg films are best enjoyed in sequence with the swagger dialed all the way up, and this guide lays out exactly where to start and what comes next.

Dabangg introduced Chulbul Pandey, a corrupt-but-lovable police officer whose swagger and action heroics made him a Bollywood icon. The trilogy mixes masala action, comedy, and family drama, with Salman Khan's charismatic cop at the center. Chulbul's cocky catchphrases and signature sunglasses-flip became pop-culture staples across India.

๐Ÿ• Release Order

Release order is recommended, as the sequels continue Chulbul's family life and rivalries.

  1. Dabangg (2010)
  2. Dabangg 2 (2012)
  3. Dabangg 3 (2019)

The first two films move Chulbul's story forward in time, while Dabangg 3 includes an origin flashback that fills in his past. Dabangg 3's prequel section is the only real wrinkle, briefly rewinding to show how Chulbul became the cop fans know and love.

๐Ÿ“– Story Chronology

Dabangg and Dabangg 2 play out chronologically, and Dabangg 3 weaves in a prequel section showing a younger Chulbul before returning to the present. Even with that flashback, the trilogy flows best in release order so the origin lands with full context.

  1. Dabangg (2010)
  2. Dabangg 2 (2012)
  3. Dabangg 3 (2019)

Which Order Should You Choose?

Watch in release order. The trilogy follows Chulbul Pandey's ongoing story, and even though Dabangg 3 revisits his origins, seeing the first two films first gives that backstory its full emotional weight. Start with the 2010 original. The trilogy is pure masala entertainment, so settle in with the 2010 original and ride the wave of action, comedy, and drama from there.
