Chris Hemsworth's black-ops mercenary Tyler Rake fights through impossible odds in Netflix's Extraction action films. Here's how to watch them in order.
Extraction stars Chris Hemsworth as Tyler Rake, a battle-hardened mercenary pulled into brutal rescue missions across the globe. Known for jaw-dropping, long-take action sequences from director Sam Hargrave, the Netflix franchise has become a go-to for adrenaline-fueled spectacle.
π Release Order
Release order is best, with the sequel continuing Tyler Rake's story.
- Extraction (2020)
- Extraction 2 (2023)
Story chronology follows release order, as the sequel directly addresses the cliffhanger ending of the first film.
π Story Chronology
Story chronology matches release order β Extraction 2 reveals Tyler's fate after the first film's finale and sends him on a new mission.
- Extraction (2020)
- Extraction 2 (2023)
Which Order Should You Choose?
Watch Extraction first, then Extraction 2 β the sequel hinges on the first film's ambiguous ending, so seeing them in order matters. Both deliver relentless, bone-crunching action, and the second ups the ante with an even more ambitious single-take set piece. Release order all the way.
