Fukrey turned a group of Delhi slackers and their get-rich-quick schemes into one of Bollywood's most popular comedy franchises. Here is how to watch all three films in order.
Produced by Excel Entertainment and directed by Mrigdeep Singh Lamba, Fukrey follows Hunny, Choocha, Lali, and Zafar, four friends whose shortcuts to success always land them in trouble, usually with the fearsome Bholi Punjaban, played by Richa Chadha. Varun Sharma's Choocha and his strange dreams became fan favorites, and Pankaj Tripathi's Panditji adds to the chaos in every installment.
๐ Release Order
The franchise has a clear, linear release order, with each film building on the last.
- Fukrey (2013)
- Fukrey Returns (2017)
- Fukrey 3 (2023)
Each sequel picks up the friends' story after the previous movie, bringing back Bholi Punjaban and escalating the schemes from lottery dreams to political campaigns.
๐ Story Chronology
The chronological order is identical to the release order, so there are no prequels or side stories to worry about.
- Fukrey (2013)
- Fukrey Returns (2017)
- Fukrey 3 (2023)
Which Order Should You Choose?
Release order is the only order you need. The first film introduces the gang and their rivalry with Bholi, and the running jokes, especially Choocha's 'jugaad' and premonitions, pay off much better if you watch from the beginning. Fukrey Returns raised the stakes, and Fukrey 3 shifts the action to an election and a water-based scam. All three are light, quick watches, perfect for a weekend comedy marathon with friends.
