How to watch

Meir Zarchi's 1978 film about writer Jennifer Hills taking brutal revenge on her attackers was banned in several countries and remains one of the most controversial exploitation films ever made. A 2010 remake revived the property and launched its own sequels, and in 2019 Zarchi himself returned with a direct follow-up to the original. Viewer discretion is strongly advised for every entry.

🕐 Release Order

Release order jumps between the original timeline and the remake series.

1. I Spit on Your Grave (1978)
2. I Spit on Your Grave (2010)
3. I Spit on Your Grave 2 (2013)
4. I Spit on Your Grave III: Vengeance Is Mine (2015)
5. I Spit on Your Grave: Deja Vu (2019)

There are really two separate storylines here. The remake series follows a new version of Jennifer, while Deja Vu picks up with the original Jennifer and Camille Keaton decades after the 1978 film.

📖 Story Chronology

For story order, watch each continuity on its own. I Spit on Your Grave 2 is a standalone story with a new protagonist, while Vengeance Is Mine continues Jennifer's journey from the 2010 remake.

1. I Spit on Your Grave (1978)
2. I Spit on Your Grave: Deja Vu (2019)
3. I Spit on Your Grave (2010)
4. I Spit on Your Grave 2 (2013)
5. I Spit on Your Grave III: Vengeance Is Mine (2015)

Which Order Should You Choose?

Chronological order by continuity makes the most sense here, since the original and Deja Vu were written by the same filmmaker as one story. If you're only curious about the franchise's reputation, the 1978 film and the 2010 remake are the two most discussed entries.
