Two underdog lawyers named Jolly, one unforgettable judge and plenty of courtroom chaos. Here's how to watch the Jolly LLB movies in order.
Written and directed by Subhash Kapoor, Jolly LLB is a Hindi courtroom comedy-drama that skewers the Indian legal system with sharp satire and real heart. Each film follows a struggling small-time lawyer called Jolly who stumbles onto a case far bigger than he is. Saurabh Shukla's scene-stealing Judge Sunderlal Tripathi is the glue that holds the franchise together.
๐ Release Order
There are three films in the series so far.
- Jolly LLB (2013)
- Jolly LLB 2 (2017)
- Jolly LLB 3 (2025)
The twist in this franchise is that the first two films feature two completely different lawyers named Jolly.
๐ Story Chronology
Jolly LLB stars Arshad Warsi as Jagdish Tyagi, a Meerut lawyer who takes on a hit-and-run case in Delhi. Jolly LLB 2 introduces Akshay Kumar as Jagdishwar Mishra, a Lucknow lawyer with a separate story, with only Judge Tripathi returning. Jolly LLB 3 finally brings both Jollys together in the same courtroom.
- Jolly LLB (2013)
- Jolly LLB 2 (2017)
- Jolly LLB 3 (2025)
Which Order Should You Choose?
Watch in release order. Although the first two films are self-contained, Jolly LLB 3 is built around the rivalry between both lawyers, and it's far funnier when you already know each Jolly's personality and history with Judge Tripathi. If you only watch one, the original remains the sharpest and most grounded of the three.
