Log Horizon is a smart 'trapped in an MMO' anime that focuses on politics, economics, and community building rather than just combat. With three seasons, here's the correct watch order.
When thousands of players are trapped inside the online game Elder Tale, strategist Shiroe sets out to build a functioning society rather than simply grind for levels. Log Horizon stands apart from other isekai with its thoughtful world-building, making the order of its three seasons easy but important to get right.
π Release Order
The three seasons aired years apart but continue one connected story, so release order is the way to go.
- Log Horizon (2013)
- Log Horizon 2nd Season (2014)
- Log Horizon: Destruction of the Round Table (2021)
There are no prequels or alternate timelines to worry about, so the chronology tracks the release order exactly.
π Story Chronology
Shiroe's story moves forward in a straight line as the players adapt to their new world and its growing political challenges.
- Log Horizon (2013) β arriving in Elder Tale
- Log Horizon 2nd Season (2014) β building a society
- Destruction of the Round Table (2021) β the latest chapter
Which Order Should You Choose?
Simply watch the three seasons in order, starting with the 2013 debut. Because each season builds on the political alliances and world rules established before it, there's no benefit to jumping around. If you enjoy strategy and world-building over nonstop action, Log Horizon rewards patient, sequential viewing.
