Summer camp becomes a killing ground in the cult-classic Sleepaway Camp slasher series, famous for one of horror's most shocking twists. Here's how to watch them in order.

Sleepaway Camp is a notorious 1983 slasher remembered for its jaw-dropping final reveal. Centered on the shy, troubled Angela, the franchise follows a string of brutal summer-camp murders across several sequels that lean into dark comedy and over-the-top kills.

πŸ• Release Order

Release order is best, as the sequels follow the same central character.

  1. Sleepaway Camp (1983)
  2. Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers (1988)
  3. Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland (1989)
  4. Return to Sleepaway Camp (2008)

Story chronology follows release order, as the sequels continue Angela's story.

πŸ“– Story Chronology

Story chronology matches release order β€” the second and third films follow an older Angela, and Return to Sleepaway Camp revisits the franchise years later.

  1. Sleepaway Camp (1983)
  2. Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers (1988)
  3. Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland (1989)
  4. Return to Sleepaway Camp (2008)

Which Order Should You Choose?

The 1983 original is essential viewing for its infamous ending, so start there. The sequels embrace campy humor and are a blast for slasher fans. Watch in release order to follow Angela's twisted journey from film to film.
