A driller killer crashes the ultimate girls' night in the Slumber Party Massacre slasher series. Here's how to watch every entry in order.

The Slumber Party Massacre franchise began with a 1982 slasher notable for being written and directed by women, offering a sly spin on the genre's conventions. The series follows masked, power-drill-wielding killers terrorizing young women across several sequels and a modern reimagining.

πŸ• Release Order

Release order keeps the slasher series in sequence.

  1. The Slumber Party Massacre (1982)
  2. Slumber Party Massacre II (1987)
  3. Slumber Party Massacre III (1990)
  4. Slumber Party Massacre (2021)

The sequels are loosely connected, so story chronology mostly follows release order.

πŸ“– Story Chronology

Story chronology broadly matches release order β€” the original trilogy shares themes and a killer's weapon of choice, while the 2021 film is a self-aware reboot.

  1. The Slumber Party Massacre (1982)
  2. Slumber Party Massacre II (1987)
  3. Slumber Party Massacre III (1990)
  4. Slumber Party Massacre (2021) β€” reboot

Which Order Should You Choose?

Watch the 1982 original first for its clever, genre-savvy approach. The sequels lean into surreal horror, and the 2021 reboot is a smart, modern update that stands on its own. Release order works best for appreciating how the series evolved.
