That '70s Show became one of the most beloved sitcoms of its era, inspiring a short-lived spin-off and a Netflix sequel. Here's how the decade-themed shows connect and the best order to watch them.
Set in the fictional town of Point Place, Wisconsin, That '70s Show follows Eric Forman and his friends hanging out in the Formans' basement between 1976 and 1979. It launched the careers of Topher Grace, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher and Laura Prepon. Fox followed it with That '80s Show, and in 2023 Netflix returned to Point Place with That '90s Show, centered on Eric and Donna's daughter Leia.
π Release Order
Release order covers all three decade-named shows from the same creative team.
- That '70s Show (1998β2006)
- That '80s Show (2002)
- That '90s Show (2023β2024)
Despite the similar title, That '80s Show features entirely new characters in San Diego and isn't connected to Point Place. That '90s Show, however, is a true sequel featuring many original cast members.
