How to watch

Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night may become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms. The Wolf Man introduced Larry Talbot in 1941, and the cursed nobleman quickly became a fixture of Universal's monster crossovers alongside Frankenstein's Monster and Dracula. Decades later, Universal revisited the legend twice, giving the franchise both gothic period horror and modern body horror.

🕐 Release Order

Release order follows Larry Talbot's original run before jumping to the two modern remakes.

1. The Wolf Man (1941)
2. Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man (1943)
3. House of Frankenstein (1944)
4. House of Dracula (1945)
5. Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948)
6. The Wolfman (2010)
7. Wolf Man (2025)

The five classic films form one loose continuity following Larry Talbot's search for a cure. The two remakes are separate stories with entirely different characters and settings.

📖 Story Chronology

If you arrange everything by setting, the Victorian-era 2010 remake comes first, followed by the 1940s Universal cycle and finally the present-day Oregon farmhouse of the 2025 film.

1. The Wolfman (2010)
2. The Wolf Man (1941)
3. Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man (1943)
4. House of Frankenstein (1944)
5. House of Dracula (1945)
6. Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948)
7. Wolf Man (2025)

Which Order Should You Choose?

Release order is the way to go, because the Universal films build directly on each other and end on the comedic high note of Abbott and Costello. Treat the 2010 and 2025 versions as standalone bonus features — the 2010 film for gothic atmosphere, the 2025 film for a grounded family horror take.
