Thunderbirds are go! Gerry Anderson's International Rescue has returned in puppet films, live action and CGI. Here's how to watch every Thunderbirds adventure in order.
Created by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson, Thunderbirds used groundbreaking "Supermarionation" puppetry to tell the story of the Tracy family, whose secret organization International Rescue saves lives using incredible futuristic vehicles. The 1960s series inspired two feature films, a 2004 live-action movie and a modern CGI and model reboot.
π Release Order
Release order shows how the Tracy brothers have been reinvented for each new generation.
- Thunderbirds (1965β1966)
- Thunderbirds Are Go (1966)
- Thunderbird 6 (1968)
- Thunderbirds (2004)
- Thunderbirds Are Go (2015β2020)
The franchise is made of three separate continuities rather than one long story.
π Story Chronology
The two 1960s films continue the original puppet series. The 2004 live-action movie, directed by Jonathan Frakes, is a standalone reimagining focused on a young Alan Tracy, while the 2015 series reboots the concept again with CGI characters and practical model sets.

Which Order Should You Choose?
