Allu Arjun's Pushpa saga became a pan-Indian phenomenon, smashing box office records with its swagger, style, and red sandalwood smuggling drama. Here is the order to watch Pushpa Raj's rise.
Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa follows Pushpa Raj, a laborer who rises through the ranks of a red sandalwood smuggling syndicate in the forests of Andhra Pradesh. Allu Arjun's performance earned him the National Film Award for Best Actor, and the films' songs and signature dialogues went viral across India and beyond. The story was planned as a multi-part saga, with Pushpa 2: The Rule continuing directly from the first film.
๐ Release Order
Release order is straightforward, as the films form one continuous story.
- Pushpa: The Rise (2021)
- Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024)
The Rise ends with the explosive introduction of Fahadh Faasil's Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, and The Rule picks up the rivalry from there, so skipping ahead is not recommended.
๐ Story Chronology
Story chronology matches release order, following Pushpa from a hired hand to the undisputed king of the syndicate.
- Pushpa: The Rise (2021)
- Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024)
Which Order Should You Choose?
Watch Pushpa: The Rise first, then Pushpa 2: The Rule. The second film assumes you know Pushpa's backstory, his relationship with Srivalli (Rashmika Mandanna), and his feud with Shekhawat. Both films are long, so plan a full evening for each. A third chapter has been teased at the end of The Rule, and we will add it here once it is released. If you love big-screen South Indian action, KGF and Baahubali are perfect follow-ups.
